OUR BACKGROUND

Your craft begins with your hands.

Forest Skincare is a female-owned, family-run business with roots in floristry, growing and horticulture. Through our sister businesses – Forest and The Fresh Flower Company – we've built a loyal community centred around flowers, plants and thoughtful living.

Our story starts with Fran, who grew up surrounded by glasshouses and growing fields long before she set up as a florist in London. Her daughter Alice joined her in 2013, opening Forest, and the two have been working with their hands and learning from each other ever since.

Three generations deep, that shared knowledge runs through every part of Forest Skincare, with each scent reminiscent of familiar settings like greenhouses or workshops, and familiar smells distinct to those settings – cut stems, damp earth, clay pots, fresh herbs and resinous woods.

THE HANDS THAT CREATE

Whether we're at our flower farm in Kent or our London workshops, our hands are constantly in use and this cycle often leaves its mark on our skin. We realised that makers like ourselves needed natural, effective products that could soothe their hands, so creating a care range felt like the natural evolution of our work, with each product guided by the same principles that shape any craft – patience, skill, and a deep respect for the materials that bring each creation to life.

Across our shops, we've always sourced from and worked alongside artisanal makers, and many of those friendships and partnerships we've built over the years carry through into how we think about Forest Skincare.

These balms and washes are for the makers, artists, gardeners, chefs and florists, all working skilfully to create beautiful things, made with care and made slowly. We hope our skincare range brings a little of that same care into your day.

Forest Skincare is made for hands that create.
